Abstract
논 문 개 요

이 연구는 중학교 음악과 교과서 17종을 대상으로 하여 2009 개정 음악과 교육과정에 명시된 대로 국악 가창곡이 어느 정도 수록하고 있는지, 비교 분석하고 학습활동에서 분석요소에 따라 국악을 반영하여 적합한 국악교육이 이루어져 있는지를 분석해 보는데 목적이 있다.
이를 위해 국악 가창곡을 장르와 지역별로 나누어 분석하고 장르별 악곡과 지역별 악곡을 분석한 뒤, 분석요소와 내용에 대한 기준표를 통해 국악 가창곡을 학습하는 활동에서 국악 교육이 타당하게 구성되어 있는지 살펴보았다.
첫째, 17종 교과서의 국악 가창 장르별 악곡의 수는 민요>창작동요>판소리>가곡>시조 순으로 많이 실려 있었으며 민요의 편중현상이 나타났다. 그리고 (주)교학사, (주)박영사, 성안당 3곳의 출판사는 시조를 다루지 않았으며 교학사와 비상교육은 창작국악 곡을 전혀 수록하고 있지 않았다.
둘째, 민요의 지역별 악곡 수에는 동부 민요 65곡, 경기민요 54곡, 남도민요 44곡, 서도민요 30곡, 제주민요 25곡으로 동부민요에 편중현상이 보였다.
셋째, 2009 개정 음악과 교육과정에 의한 17종 중학교 음악교과서에는 국악의 특징 중 하나인 시김새를 각 곡마다 중점적으로 다루고 있었으며 대체적으로 장단을 치며 노래를 불러보거나 발림을 하면서 노래를 불러 볼 수 있도록 국악 가창곡을 구성하고 있었다.
따라서 보다 체계적인 국악교육을 위해서는 국악 가창곡에서 어느 한 장르를 집중적으로 차별하여 다루는 것이 아니라 다양한 구성을 이루도록 해야 한다. 그리고 교사는 사회, 과학 등 다양한 분야 과목을 적극적으로 연결하여 우리 민족의 정서나 문화적·사회적·역사적으로 포괄적인 국악교육이 되도록 수업을 진행해야 할 것이다.
