18세기 로코코시대의 미용문화에 관한 연구 - 영화 <마리 앙투아네트>를 중심으로 -

Abstract

현대 사회에서 미(美)의 가치는 자신을 대변할 수 있는 무언의 수단으로서 그 역할이 중요시 되고 있으며 이에 대한 관심은 계속 높아져 가고 있다. 이러한 사회 경향은 미용(美容)이라는 행위를 독자적인 문화로 형성시키는 원천이 되었다. 미용 문화는 한 사회를 이끄는 트랜드로 자리 잡고 있으며 화려하면서도 감각적인 로코코시대는 다른 어떠한 시대보다 다양한 경향이 표출되어 여러 분야에서 비일비재하게 테마로 사용되어져 왔다. 여성들이 중요하게 생각하는 시각적 이미지 형성은 헤어와 메이크업을 통하여 나타난다. 현대의 여성들은 유행을 중요시하고 아름다워지려는 욕구 충족을 위한 치장을 마다하지 않는데 이는 헤어와 메이크업, 복식에 이르기까지 다양한 미용문화를 선보인 로코코 시대의 여성들과 매우 유사하여 이 시대를 연구하는 동기를 마련하였다. 본 연구는 복식 및 화장 문화 관련 문헌과 논문, 학술지를 참고로 하였으며 영화를 통한 비교 분석을 위하여 로코코 스타일이 가장 두드러지게 나타난 영화 <마리 앙투아네트>를 선정하여 비교분석하였다. 본론에서는 18세기 로코코의 사회?문화적 배경과 특징에 대한 이론적 개념을 정리 하고, 당시의 미용문화를 헤어? 메이크업? 패션으로 분류하여 살펴보았다. 또한 이론적 개념을 토대로 <마리 앙투아네트>에 나타난 18세기의 헤어, 메이크업, 패션 경향을 비교하여 이를 바탕으로 현대 사회에서 여성들에게 적용시킬 수 있는 스타일로 재해석하여 작품으로 표현하였다. 로코코시대의 미용문화는 귀족문화 중심으로 메이크업과 헤어스타일 뿐만아니라 복식에도 영향을 미쳤다. 당시의 메이크업은 사교의 일환으로서 남녀 모두 습관처럼 분으로 얼굴을 하얗게 표현하고 볼과 입술에 연지를 발랐다. 아래 눈꺼풀에 두꺼운 화장을 하였으며 장밋빛에서 양홍 빛에 이르는 볼 화장을 유행시켰다. 이 시대의 헤어스타일은 조형성이 강조된 형태로 여성화를 추구함으로써 남성들 또한 긴 머리에 컬을 한 가발을 사용하기 시작하였다. 로맨틱하고 화려한 예술양식과 곡선형태의 실내장식들이 사회전반에 반영됨으로써, 헤어스타일에도 영향을 끼쳐 이 시대의 특성인 과다한 장식과 자유롭고 부드러운 곡선이 헤어스타일에 반영되었다. 본 연구는 로코코 시대의 미용문화를 모티브로 다각도에서 응용하여 창의적인 트랜드의 개발의 가능성을 모색하였다. 또한 평면적인 표현방식을 탈피한 오브제 요소가 강조된 새로운 헤어?메이크업 스타일을 창출하여 아름다움을 표현하는 수단에서 벗어난 패션과 예술적인 이미지로 발전할 수 있음을 제시하였다. 앞으로도 현대 사회에서 시대적 배경은 중요한 모티브이므로 시대별 미용문화는 여러 분야에서 중요한 테마로 자리 잡을 것이다. 때문에 시대를 바탕으로 한 통합적 미용문화의 지속적인 연구과 다양한 재해석이 이루어져 한 시대의 새로운 트랜드와 문화를 창출해야 할 것이다.|As for the value of beauty in modern society, the role is being taken serious view of as silent means to be able to speak for oneself, and interest for it is increasing continuously. This society tendency became the source to form the action to be beauty culture as independent culture. Beauty culture is settling as trend to lead one society, and mass media are playing the best media role in creating and expressing trend. While the pervasive effect of vogue through media has very great influence, gorgeous and sensual Rococo period has often been used as theme in various fields as diverse tendencies are expressed than any other period. Visual image formation that women take serious view of appears through hair and make-up. As for the modern women to take serious view of vogue and decoration as one of self-expression and beautiful Rococo period, there is a part to have something to do with modern women. So, it became the motive to reinterpret the beauty culture of the 18th century modernly by studying and analyzing it. Modern women take serious view of hair and make-up as one of self-expression. So, this researcher tries to reinterpret the gorgeousness and femininity of Rococo period as new beauty trend by making it into one image form and expressing it. In this study, this researcher examined the beauty culture of the 18th century by classifying it into hair, make-up, and fashion. By taking the point that the study on beauty culture which compiled hair and make-up as one is small minority while preceding studies related to hair or dress and its ornaments are majority into consideration, this researcher studied then period background, hair-style, make-up, and fashion by referring to literature, thesis and scientific journal related to dress and its ornaments and make-up beauty for integrated study. In addition, for comparative analysis study through movie, this researcher compared and analyzed by choosing <Marie-Antoinette> that Rococo style showed most conspicuously. In main discourse, this researcher examined the social background and feature of Rococo period and explained the theoretical concept of hair-style, make-up, and dress and its ornaments which showed in those days. Next, this researcher compared the hair, make-up, and fashion tendency of the 18th century which appeared in movie <Marie-Antoinette>. This researcher expressed as work by reinterpreting with style to be abel to apply to women in modern society on the basis of this base. As the result, this researcher presented the possibility to be able to develop with colorful and creative style, and it could be seen that it may be applied to daily life also without unreasonableness. For image creation, any one among hair, make-up, and fashion should not be overlooked. For the beautiful decoration of women, total styling which connects each independent domain acts as important element. So, study on integrated beauty culture and new reinterpretation to be based on it will be base manure to form new trend as well as scientific base data.
