그려쓰기를 활용한 과학 수업이 초등학생의 과학 학업성취도와 과학 학습 태도에 미치는 영향

Abstract

본 연구에서는 그려쓰기를 활용한 과학 수업이 초등학교 3학년 학생의 과학 학업성취도와 과학 학습 태도에 미치는 영향을 알아보고, 수업처치 후 실험집단 학생들의 그려쓰기 결과물의 유형과 각 결과물이 어떤 의미를 지니는지 살펴보고자 하였다. 광역시 소재 G초등학교 3학년 4학급 총 88명을 연구대상으로 실험집단은 그려쓰기를 활용한 과학 수업 6차시, 비교집단은 교과서를 활용한 수업 6차시를 2주간 실시하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 그려쓰기를 활용한 과학 수업은 과학 학업성취도 향상에 유의미한 영향을 주었다. 둘째, 그려쓰기를 활용한 과학 수업은 과학 학습 태도 향상에 유의미한 영향을 주었다. 셋째, 실험집단 학생들이 다양한 유형의 그려쓰기 결과물을 표현하였으며 과학 개념을 그려쓰기라는 새로운 방식으로 표현하였다는데 큰 의미가 있었다.

The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of science lessons utilizing concrete poetry on the primary school students’ science academic achievement and science learning attitudes. And this research analyzed the meanings of concrete poetry tasks. The subjects of this research were 88 students from 4 different classes of the third grade in G primary school in the provinces. This research established 2 classes (44 students) as the experimental group and the other 2 classes (44 students) as the controlled group. While the experimental group studied ‘states of matter’ utilizing concrete poetry, the controlled group studied ‘states of matter’ utilizing the textbook. The findings of this study were as follows: First, science lessons utilizing concrete poetry had a positive influence on the promotion of the science academic achievement. Second, the science lessons utilizing concrete poetry had a positive influence on science learning attitudes. Third, the experimental group made meaningful concrete poetry tasks. The science lessons utilizing concrete poetry made students restructure scientific concepts in themselves.
