고등학교 기술ㆍ가정교과의 「기술영역」에 대한 학습자의 인식 및 평가

Abstract

본 연구는 고등학교 기술ㆍ가정 교과 중 기술 영역에 대하여 학습자들은 어떻게 인식하고 평가하고 있는지를 조사·분석하여 그에 따른 문제점을 파악하고 개선방향을 짚어보자 하는데 그 목적이 있다. 연구 결과를 기초로 다음과 같은 결론을 제시할 수 있다. 첫째, 기술교과 교육은 대학 입시에 큰 영향을 미치지 않지만 중요하며 수업 시수가 많다고 인식하고 있는 것으로 조사되었다. 대학 입시에서 제외된 과목이기 때문에 생활 기술로서 더욱더 교과의 독창성을 살려 현재는 물론 미래의 삶을 행복하게 영위할 수 있는 능력을 신장시킬 수 있는 교육으로 인류 복지 증진에 기여할 수 있게 해야 한다. 둘째, 기술교과의 수업시간은 내용이 어렵고 교사의 학습 지도 방법이 적절하지 않아서 흥미도가 낮은 것으로 조사되었으며, 단원 내용 설명은 만족하고 있지만 내용은 어렵고 이해하기 힘들다고 인식하는 것으로 나타났다. 학생들이 실생활과 밀접한 내용의 학습에 대한 요구도가 높은 점을 고려하여 교과 내용을 학생의 흥미와 사회 변화에서 발생되는 필요를 충족시킬 수 있는 내용을 강화시켜 보다 바람직한 교육이 될 수 있도록 교과 내용을 보완해야 할 것이다. 셋째, 기술교과는 실생활에 도움이 된다고 하였으며, 실험실습은 학습효과를 증진하는데 중요한 역할을 한다고 인식하는 것으로 조사되었다. 하지만 실험횟수는 한 달에 1번 이하인 학교가 많은 것으로 조사되어 학교 현장에서 최소한 실습과 이론을 동등한 비율로 가르치고 실습할 수 있도록 개정하여야 한다. 학문을 배우기 위한 교육이 아니라, 되도록 한가지 이상의 기술을 실질적으로 익힘으로써 삶의 유익이 되도록 하는 교육을 실시해야 할 것이다.

This study is to find out how the students in high schools sited in Seoul recognize the contents by the unit in technology part out of the TechnologyㆍHome Economics Subject. As to the subject of technology, the learner-oriented education is required. Therefore, when the determination based on the learning contents and teaching-learning method is followed up by comprehending the leaners’ interest on the part of trainee, the high level of learning effect would be realized. The research aims at improving the present situation through working on the learners’ perception tendency, pointing out the problems, and analyzing them with regard to the high school technology realm out of Technology & Home Economics. From the findings in the research, the following could be concluded. First, it was found that the education of technology subject was important though it might not be influential to the admission test for entrance to college and that many teaching hours were given when considered to their recognition level about the subject. Second, the class about technology subject was perceived as difficult to understand and their level of interest in the subject turned out to be low thanks to the inappropriate teaching method. Though satisfied with the way of explanation about figures in unit contents, they showed less agreeable attitude in understanding the contents. Third, they thought that the technology subject is useful to their real daily life and recognized that it plays an important role in motivating the learning effect. And yet, it appeared that there were many schools with the performance of experiment not more than once.
