환경윤리교육의 현황과 과제

Abstract

본 연구는 현행 7차 도덕과 교육과정과 교과서 및 개정교육과정(2007년 고시)에 담긴 환경윤리관련 내용을 분석하여 향후 개선방안을 모색하고자 한 것이다. 현행 도덕과 교육과정과 교과서를 분석한 결과 개념적 혼란과 이론적 토대가 모호함을 발견하였다. 이들 문제점들은 개정교육과정에서 일정 부분 보완되었지만, 개정교육과정 또한 여전히 지속가능한 발전과 생태중심주의라는 양립하기 어려운 개념을 조화롭게 풀어내야하는 문제를 안고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 성리학, 그 중에서도 퇴계의 천명도설을 절충의 성공 사례로 검토하였다. 퇴계의 성리학은 우리의 환경윤리교육이 인간중심주의를 벗어나 생태중심적 방향을 견지하되, 동시에 인간의 인간과 자연에 대한 책임 또한 강조하는 온건한 인문적 생태주의로 나아가야 함을 보여준다.

his research has been done to point out the problems of contemporary Environmental Ethics Education and to suggest the task of future Environmental Ethics Education. Current Environmental Ethics Education has two problems of conceptual confusion and theoritical vagueness. These problems was complemented in the revised moral education curriculum(issued in 2007) in part. But we still have the task to harmonize Environmentally Sound and Sustainable Development with ecocentrism which is difficult to make compatible. I present T'oegye Yi Hwang(退溪 李滉, 1501-1570)’ Neo-confucianism as a successful harmonization. His theory shows that our Environmental Ethics Education have to head for humanitarian ecocentrism.
