한자문화권 언어 단모음의 음운론적 보편성 - IPA 기호 기반, 한·중·일·베트남어 단모음체계의 음운론적 보편성을 중심으로 -

Abstract

기존 한자문화권 언어의 대조 연구에서 두 가지 이상의 언어를 택해 음성이나 음운에 대해 유형론적 측면에서 다룬 경우는 매우 드물다. 본 연구는 566개 언어를 토대로 조사한 음운 유형론 함축적 보편성에 근거하여(루빙푸(2018) 등 참조) 한자문화권언어 한·중·일 및 베트남어의 모음체계에서 어떤 음운론적 보편성이 나타나는지 주목하여, 비교·분석을 통해 4가지 언어의 음운론적 보편성 위계를 도출하였다. 한편, 최근 외국어로서의 한국어 교육 현장에는 중국, 일본, 베트남 등지에서 온 다양한 학습자들이 함께 공부하고 있다. 이처럼 다양한 국적의 L1 화자를 고려하여 효과적인 교육방책을 모색하고자, 필자는 한자문화권이라는 제목으로 한자 어휘를 많이 보유 중인 4가지 언어를 선별해 이들의 단모음을 대조하였다. 그리고 이를 통해 음성이나 음운론적으로 어떤 유사점과 차이점을 지니는지 규명하였다.

In contrast studies of existing Chinese character Cultural Area languages, there are very few discussions dealt with in terms of phonetic or phonological typology by choosing two or more languages. Based on the phonological typology implication universality investigated based on 566 languages, this study focused on what phonological universality appears in the vowel systems of Korean, Chinese, Japanese, and Vietnamese, and derived the phonological universality hierarchy of four languages through comparison and analysis. Meanwhile, learners from China, Japan, and Vietnam gather to conduct education together at the recent Korean language education site as a foreign language. In order to find effective educational measures in consideration of L1 speakers of various nationalities, I selected four languages that have a lot of Chinese characters under the theme of the Chinese character culture area and compared their short vowels. And through this, it was identified what similarities and differences are in phonetics or phonology. It is hoped that the results of this study will contribute a lot to external education and research in Korean.
