‘ESG’인문학으로서 생태 시민성의 관점에서 본 박경리 시 연구 - 박경리 시에 나타난 ‘여성 노인’의 생태 시민성 연구-

Abstract

본 연구는 인류세의 시대 심각한 환경 파괴의 결과, 기후위기의 전환 논리로서 ‘ESG’의 가치를 인문학의 실천적인 영역에서 새롭게 논의하고자 한다. 이를 통해 비영리적인 시민사회의 영역에서 ‘거버넌스(Governance)’의 개념으로서 시민성의 주제를 ‘주체’의 ‘위치’가 아닌 ‘생태 시민성(Ecological Citizenship)’의 관점에서 연구함으로써 ‘ESG’에 대한 문제의식을 인문학적인 실천을 통해 연구하고자 한다. 이때 생태 시민성은 세계화에 따른 불평등과 불공정성에 대한 결과로서 전지구적 환경문제와 시민성 논의에 있어 새로운 탈세계주의(post-cosmopolitanism)의 시민성을 요구하는 지점에서 출현하였다. 작고 전까지 박경리 작가는 시집에 수록된 시편들에서 인간 중심에서 비롯된 ‘휴브리스’와 근대적 역사관에서 벗어나 인류세의 시간 인식 속에서 초고령화 사회로 진입한 한국 사회에서 가부장적 사회의 희생의 아이콘으로 인식된 ‘여성 노인’에 대한 혐오와 수동적 인식을 극복하고, 생명의 기원에 천착함으로써 ‘여성 노인’의 능동적 삶을 통해 지속가능성의 덕성으로서 생태시민성의 실천을 염원하였다. 이에 본고는 박경리 시의 ‘여성 노인’의 존재 의의를 생태적 실천의 문제에서 이해, 심층생태주의에 기반한 여성성의 특성이 자연을 지배해 온 근대 주체(남성성)의 합리성과는 다른 타자성으로서 생명에 대한 책임의 역사성을 지닌 존재임을 해명하였다. 나아가 이때 생태시민성의 실천적 영역에서 박경리 시에 나타난 ‘여성 노인’은 편견과 혐오를 조장하는 미디어 거버넌스의 실체가 생명을 파괴하는 반생태적 행위임를 비판하고 생명에 대한 통찰과 실천을 통해 생태시민성의 실천을 염원하였다. 이러한 맥락에서 박경리의 시는 마사 누스바움의 말처럼 미디어를 통해 ‘노인’에 대한 혐오가 편견을 통해 확산된 것이라고 할 때, 권력화된 미디어 세계에서 자본주의의 반생태적 일상성을 비판적으로 통찰함으로써 생명에 대한 통찰을 통해 ‘여성 노인’이 지닌 생태 시민성의 존재 의의를 입증하였다고 할 수 있다. 이때 가짜뉴스와 같이 소문이 권력을 지닌 미디어 세상에서 박경리의 시는 인류세의 시대에 ESG 인문학으로서 새로운 지평을 한국문학사에 구현하였다고 할 수 있다.

This study aims to discuss the value of 'ESG' as a transition logic of the climate crisis as a result of serious environmental destruction such as the Anthropocene in the practical field of humanities. Through this, the problem consciousness of 'ESG' through humanities practice is studied from the perspective of 'ecological citizenship' rather than 'position' of 'subject' as the concept of 'governance' in the realm of non-profit civil society. At this time, ecological citizenship emerged at the point of demanding new post-cosmopolitanism citizenship in the discussion of global environmental issues and citizenship as a result of inequality and injustice caused by globalization. Therefore, this paper newly studied ESG humanities by reinterpreting the subject of citizenship as the virtue of sustainability through the study of 'female elderly' in Park Kyung-ri literature from the perspective of ecological citizenship. Until his death, Park Kyung-ri not only embodied heterogeneous and new femininity, but also embodied the significance of ecological citizenship of the "old woman" through historical responsibility for life, "inspectation," and "practice," away from the human-centered modern historical view of human-centeredness in the poetry collections. Furthermore, Park Kyung-ri's poem criticized the hatred and prejudice that Martha Nussbaum said, saying that media power acts as an opportunity to rationalize these prejudices and spread hate. By critically insighting the anti-ecological daily life of the powerized media world and capitalism, Park Kyung-ri's poem embodies a new horizon in the history of Korean literature as ESG humanities.
