Abstract

Lu Chuan is a chinese filmmaker and screenwriter. He is one of most successful sixth generation directors. Hailed as a major new voice in Chinese cinema, Lu Chuan`s first two films is The Missing Gun and Ke Ke Xi Li(Mountain Patrol) What Lu chuan claims as "Auteur in the system" means a director who creates a masterpiece without losing its own ``originality`` and ``artistry`` in harmony with market system or national power. The "system" that he mentions has more than one meaning. It`s film industry system including makers, producer system and star employment.
