The feature and the meaning of 「Leesaeg-gyujang-jeon」included in the Literature text
Abstract
「Leesaeng-gyujang-jeon」, a piece of 『Kuem-o-shin-hwa』, is the best characteristic of fictional biographies. There is romance between two main characters and fantastic this life and afterlife in this literary work. It is based on love than other pieces, so it seems it`s the easiest one to learn for high school students. For these reasons, 「Leesaeng-gyujang-jeon」is included in high school text book best, compared with other pieces in 『Kuem-o-shin-hwa』and all other classic novels. In this thesis, I analysed 12 kinds of text books including 「Leesaeng-gyujangjeon」and found out how teachers teach this piece in their class. First, I examined how learning activities go by dividing ``acceptance and creation of literature by genre`` and ``literature and culture``. The former has 3 kinds of text books and the latter has 9 kinds of them. However, it composes uniform contents without regard to learning goals and features. Next, I looked into appropriacy based on quotations in text books. As a result, there is no way to know who translate these novels written in Chinese in most cases. In addition, it is summarized too much, so narrative context is not connected to the story and there is room for confusion by mismarking main character`s name to learners. It is very important to focus texts` contents with what view you have, even same literary piece. That`s because these are variable characters that literary works have, and it could be the guideline to experience the value of pieces.
