현대 한국사회의 위기와 직업윤리

Abstract

한국은 경제사적 측면에서 전 세계적으로 그 유래를 찾아볼 수 없을 만큼 빠른 기간 내에 경제성장을 이룩하였다. 하지만 한국사회는 급속한 경제적 성장에 걸맞을 만큼 윤리적 책임의식을 갖고 있다고 하기에는 미흡한 실정이다. 최근 한국 사회는 심각한 위기를 경험하고 있다. 한국사회의 위기상황 대처의 문제점을 분석할 경우 위기 속에 내재한 정신적 요인을 우선적으로 이해할 필요가 있다. 이 연구는 한국사회가 처한 위기의 문제를 윤리적 측면에서 분석하고자 한다. 특히 직업윤리라는 개념에 대한 논의를 통해 한국사회가 가지고 있는 위기에 대한 문제점을 고려해 보고자 한다. 이런 맥락에서 2014년 세월호 침몰 사건은 한국 사회의 국가적 위기상황의 민낯을 보여주는 적절한 예라고 할 수 있다. 따라서 이 연구는 한국사회의 국가적 위기상황에서 나타난 직업윤리에 대한 비판적 고찰을 통해 국가적 위기상황에 적절히 대응하기 위한 윤리적 대안방안과 개선방향을 제시하고자 한다.

South Korea has achieved the rapid economic growth in a short period of time. However, it is difficult to say that South Korea has got a sufficient ethical responsibility, which might correspond to the economic growth. Recently, South Korea has been experiencing serious crisis in every aspect. In this context, the current crisis in South Korea should be reconsidered from the perspective of mental element that is embedded in the innate crisis rather than understood based on the materialistic factors. This study analyses the present crisis of South Korea from the angle of ethical viewpoint. In particular, this paper considers the crisis and problems that South Korea has now faced through the understanding of the aspect of ‘professional ethics.’ In this sense, the sinking incident of Sewol ferry in 2014 has provided us a proper example of national crisis. Therefore, this study examines the alternative ethical ideas and adequate improvements that could appropriately respond to national crises of South Korea through a critical scrutiny of profession ethics.
